Better HR Expended their services to 3 Countries

Better Technologies Myanmar (trading as Better HR), based in Yangon has grown to 150 customer companies across 3 countries within 1 year, making it the first Yangon-based startup in HR space to make it regional.

Better HR is a cloud-based applications which allow organizations to streamline HR process such as attendance, leave, overtimes and payroll with a mobile applications and enable connectivity between employees and teams even in the most remote situations such as work-from-home (WFH).

Within one year of establishment, over 150 companies across Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Vietnam have adopted Better HR to manage 25,000 employees and processing $1m per month in salary on the platform.

The customer base has grown 4 times compared to pre-launch customer base and now reaching over 20 cities in 3 countries. (Note: 20 cities means the number of cities where companies HQs are based. We are not counting branches)

Cities in Myanmar includes Yangon, Mandalay, Sittwe, Myeik and Muse. International cities are Ho Chi Minh City from Vietnam and Colombo in Sri Lanka.

A significant milestone for Myanmar start-up community

This is a significant milestone in Myanmar start-up community to make it outside of Myanmar especially in the B2B segment which requires a great deal of localization and market fit as HR and labor regulations vary significantly from country to country.

Better HR started as an in-house mobile application to track attendance and employee record is now fully evolved into an organizational management tool.

With Better HR app, Employees can submit attendance, leave, OT and chat with each other keeping company operations alive even in social distancing period.

Next steps

With strong 1st year growth, Better HR will focus its second year in scaling local operations and start building international footprint in the South Asia region.

The growth can be attributed to expansion of features such as payroll, real-time communication chats, assets and files and increased business development efforts in 2019-2020.

In 2021, Better HR plans to expand the product offering into performance management, improved realtime communication, team management and payroll for overseas countries forecasting 3 times customer growth next year.

Better HR already raised a six-digit seed round funded by Seed Myanmar Ventures and other local angel investors and will be raising its pre Series A round in 2021.
