This week, J Cineplex is premiering two new Myanmar movies (Magic Mask and Flower in the Garden) along with two new international releases (Unexpected Family and Border 2). Popular movies currently in theaters will also continue their screenings.

New Movie Highlights

• Magic Mask (Maw Myat Nar Tone): This is a fun and joyful movie centered around a mysterious magical mask found in an ancient chest belonging to a King from the Inwa era. It stars Kyaw Ye Aung, Nay Toe, Kyaw Kyaw Bo, Yadanar Bo, and Cho Pyone, supported by a large cast. Based on a story by Nyi Lay, the screenplay is by Nay Soe Thaw and Lwin Min Ant, and it is directed by Aw Ra Tha.
• Flower in the Garden (Pann Khin Htel Ka Pyo Thaw Pann): In this film, you will see how vital a gardener’s touch is in bringing beautiful, colorful flowers to life. The main cast includes Thu Htoo San, Aung Lay, Shin Myat, Paing Sit Hmu, Ei Si Kway, Soe Myat Thuzar, May Thinzar Oo, Khine Hnin Wai, Lin Lett Khun Cho, and Margaret. The story and direction are by Thar Htet (La Min Thar), with a screenplay by Min Ta Khit and Khit Pyo Phyu.
• Unexpected Family: Starring Peng Yuchang as Zhong Bufan, a young man struggling in a big city, and the legendary Jackie Chan as Ren Jiqing, an elderly landlord suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. This movie explores themes of comedy and heartwarming family love.
• Border 2: To talk about Border 2, we must look back at the 1997 classic Border, which was based on the Battle of Longewala. Now in 2026, Border 2 returns for action-loving fans with even more magnificent and gritty battlefield scenes.
