Curfew Lifted in Yangon Region on December 27, 2025

The night-time curfew, which restricted movement between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM, was previously enforced under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in 44 townships (excluding Cocokyun Township) within the Yangon Region. This measure was implemented for security, stability, and the rule of law.

 

Due to the improved peace and stability in the Yangon Region, and with the aim of promoting economic, social, and religious activities, facilitating smooth public movement, and fostering further development of businesses, the current night-time curfew from 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM has been lifted, effective the morning of December 27, 2025.
